New Food and Fun Landing at the Gateway
Game Arena, Yong Kang Street and Cazuela’s Opening in the Plaza
[Columbus, Ohio] May 02, 2019 – The Gateway – University District continues to evolve with the addition of new restaurants and entertainment destinations. Serving The Ohio State University community and surrounding neighborhoods, the Gateway is thrilled to welcome three exciting tenants to its diverse offerings:
Game Arena – Opening Fall 2019: Game Arena is expanding to its second location in central Ohio at 1554-1556 N. High Street in the Gateway Plaza, providing a new and unique offering to the Ohio State campus. Just like its Hilliard concept, the new campus location will provide a world-class e-gaming experience with high-performance computers, comfortable gaming chairs, and the latest PC and console games. The fully renovated 5,000 S.F. space will provide an ideal atmosphere for gamers (and non-gamers) of all skill levels. Additionally, this Game Arena will introduce the brand’s new, expanded food and drink menus developed by A&R Creative Group. The new offerings will feature curated sandwiches and snacks, themed-craft cocktails, and an assortment of beer, wine and spirits. A&R Creative Group is known for a number of popular campus concepts including TRISM, Midway, Ethyl & Tank, and Fourth St Bar & Grill, as well as the Crest and other restaurants in the Columbus area.
Cazuelas Grill – Coming Soon: Located at 1542 North High Street, adjacent to the Gateway Film Center, Authentic Mexican food is coming to Gateway – University District in the form of a second Columbus location for the popular cantina, whose other University District venue is also on High Street just north of Lane Avenue. With over 13 years of business under its belt, as well as a food truck, Cazuela’s has developed legions of fans who appreciate their warm environment, traditional Mexican cuisine made of the freshest ingredients, and delicious hand-crafted margaritas featuring select premium tequilas. The Gateway location will occupy 4,600 S.F., even more space for guests to experience the same friendly service and menu that have made Cazuela’s an OSU mainstay. A new storefront will be added over the summer in anticipation of the opening.
Yong Kang Street – Opening Fall 2019: Marking the first location in Ohio, Yong Kang Street will be located at 1574-1576 North High Street, next to the recently opened Coffee Connections, and will offer dishes featuring the unique flavors of Taiwan and China. Yong Kang Street is named after the famed thoroughfare in Taipei that is home to a large variety of restaurants and food stalls. The restaurant aims to pay homage to its namesake by offering a broad selection of noodle soups, ramen, rice dishes, fried rice, dumplings, wok-tossed vegetables and proteins, desserts and dim sum. With a 3,300 S.F. space, Yong Kang Street will bring variety and international flair to the Gateway and will be a perfect dining spot for students, faculty, staff and community residents alike. The venue will also offer beer selections from Asia and locally sourced wines.
“There truly is something for everyone here at the Gateway,” said Christiana Moffa, Property Manager for the Gateway - University District. “The addition of Cazuela’s and Yong Kang Street contribute to our unique melting pot of restaurants, while Game Arena offers a new resource and popular activity to the university area. We are so pleased with the continued evolution of the Gateway, and will be almost fully-occupied after these new establishments open.”
